Brand guidelines, a live site, not a PDF nobody opens, the rules the team can use.

Brand guidelines die when they ship as PDFs. We build them as live sites that mirror the engineering tokens, with decision pages instead of just rules, and usage examples drawn from the actual product surfaces.

What we build

  • A live site the team bookmarks

Guidelines deployed as a live site on a subdomain. Searchable, linkable, updated in the same PR cycle as the underlying tokens. The team links to specific pages in PRs; nobody opens a 60-page PDF.

  • Tokens mirroring the engineering config

Color, type, spacing tokens shown in the guidelines come from the same source as the Tailwind config. Copying the hex value isn't a guess; it's the value the codebase actually uses.

  • Decision pages, not just rule pages

'Why this color' alongside 'this color exists'. The trade-off behind every token, named so the team can extend the system in the same spirit when the rules don't cover a new surface.

  • Usage examples from the real product

Component screenshots, marketing-page references, social-post mocks. The team copies these as starting points rather than reinventing for each new surface.

  • Voice + tone alongside visual identity

Tone of voice, banned phrases, do's and don'ts with real examples. Copy guidelines on the same site as the visual ones; the brand is one system, not two disciplines.

  • Brand checklist the team can hold themselves to

Per-surface checklists (landing page, deck, social, email). A new page ships only after running through the checklist. Brand consistency becomes verifiable, not aspirational.

Where this fits

  1. Your existing brand guidelines are a PDF from your last agency engagement and the team has never opened it.

  2. Your brand is being applied inconsistently across surfaces and design reviews are the only enforcement mechanism.

  3. You're scaling the team and the implicit brand knowledge in the founders' heads needs to live somewhere everyone can reach.
